George, IA Mark Lemke, age 54 of George, IA died Saturday, February 6, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Center in George, IA. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at Tabernacle Baptist Church in George with Pastor Bryan Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Cemetery at Sheldon, IA. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 9th from 2:00 " 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 " 8:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of George. Mark Alan Lemke was born August 15, 1955 at LeMars, IA the son of Louis W. and Carol K. (Rollins) Lemke. Mark grew up and attended school in Sibley. He graduated from Sibley High School in 1973. Mark made his home in Sheldon and for twenty-two years he owned and operated M&C Trucking Inc. In the last few years Mark lived in George where he made his home. During his life he worked with disabled children at Shurburn, Minnesota and drove truck for Holiday Express Inc. out of Estherville, Iowa. Mark had many passions in life which included golfing with his son and friends. He would travel thru the United States to golf in many tournaments. He was involved in the parent-child golf tournament in Myrtle Beach, SC. After Corys passing it was known as the Cory Lemke tournament for parent and child, which Mark was a huge sponsor. Going to this tournament was the highlight of his year. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan and loved being in his truck traveling around the states. For Mark spending time with family was very important, he always enjoyed time with his brothers golfing or watching football games or being at family gatherings. As his health declined he became a resident of the George Good Samaritan Center and on Saturday, February 6, 2010, he died at the age of fifty-four. He is survived by his daughter, Kelli Jo Lemke of Sheldon, IA; father, Louis Lemke of Sibley, IA; his siblings, Brad J. Lemke of George, IA; Valerie VanRoekel of Cedar Falls, IA; Steve (Diane) Lemke of Sibley, IA; Beth Alford of Sibley, IA; Carl Lemke of Fort Madison, IA; Tom (Lucinda) Lemke of Sibley, IA; Terry (Crystal) Lemke of Globe, AZ and Larry Lemke of Sibley, IA along with many relatives and friends. Mark was preceded in death by his daughter, Nikki Lemke; son, Cory Lemke; mother, Carol Lemke; grandparents, Frank and Edna Rollins and Louis and Leona Lemke. Blessed be his memory.
