Paul Ray Thompson

Paul Thompson, age 92 of Hills, MN died Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at the Tuff Memorial Home in Hills, MN. Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17th at the Jurrens Funeral Home in Hills, MN, with Pastor Mary Dodgson officiating. Burial will follow in the Flowerfield Cemetery rural Hills. Visitation will be Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the Jurrens Funeral Home in Hills. Paul Ray Thompson was born on March 14, 1917 in Hills, MN, the son of Arthur and Ruth (Brusse) Thompson. On July 8, 1950, he was united in marriage to Bertha Marie Kolsrud. To this union one son Roger Ray Thompson was born on December 16, 1951 and he passed away on January 22, 1986. Paul and Bertha farmed near Hills until their retirement in 1976. The couple moved to the Tuff Village in March of 2004. On January 22, 2009 Paul moved into the Tuff Home, suffering from dementia. Paul was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hills. Paul is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Bertha Thompson of Hills, MN; a sister, Kathryn Aaker of Luverne, MN; and two nephews and three nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Ruth Thompson; his son, Roger Thompson; one sister, Dorothy Larsen; and two brothers-in-law, James Larsen and Russell Aaker.
