Sharon R. Scharlepp

Sibley, Iowa Sharon Scharlepp, age 74 of Sibley, IA died Sunday, November 28, 2010 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Graveside services will be held at 1:45 p.m. Thursday, December 2, 2010 at the Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley, IA with Pastor Charles Gilbert officiating. Family and friends will gather at Jurrens Funeral Home in Sibley at 1:00 p.m. before processing to the cemetery. Sharon R. Scharlepp was born on March 4, 1936 at Sibley, Iowa, the daughter of George and Helen (Harding) Scharlepp. She grew up in this area and later attended school in Spirit Lake, Iowa, where she graduated High School. She loved spending time on the Harding Family Farm with her grandmother. She had special memories of the time she spent there and shared them often with her friends. She lived in the Pacific Palisades, CA area where she worked for several businesses. She moved to Dallas, Texas and returned to make her home in Melvin where she worked for the Melvin School and Rural Water business. In 1986, she made her home in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where she was a secretary at several businesses in town. She retired in 1990 and became active in the D.A.R. and several other organizations, where she actively volunteered. She loved history, politics and reading. She is survived by several cousins and many friends. Preceding her in death were her parents.
