George, Iowa Rev. Willis E. Nicholson, age 91 of Webster City, IA, formerly of George, IA died Sunday, December 15, 2013 at Crestview Nursing & Rehab in Webster City, IA. A memorial service will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, December 21st at First Presbyterian Church in Kamrar, IA, with Rev. John Wilson and Donna Stevens, CLP officiating. Also, there will be a memorial service held at 10:30 AM, Monday, January 20th at Lyon County First Presbyterian Church near George, IA, with Rev. Paul Fischer officiating. He graduated from Brooten High School and then attended Northwestern College in MN and college in Jamestown, ND, and earned his degree in Theology from University of Dubuque Theological Seminary in Dubuque, IA. On July 26, 1950 he and Ida (Mickelson) were married. Willis pastored in George, IA for 27 years and Lonerock for 10 years. He served as an interim pastor in Burt, Kamrar, Garner & Lakota. Willis was a member of the Lions and enjoyed fishing and riding horse. His family includes four children: Dan (Carolin) Nicholson of North Richland Hills, TX, Deb (John) Carparoula of New Castle, PA, Doug (Ruth) Nicholson of Webster City, & Dwight (Michelle) Nicholson Eagen, MN; nine grandchildren Jim (Jamie) Nicholson, Kama Sroufe, Blake Stroschein, Bill (Stefanie) Carparoula, Luisa Carparoula, Zackeriah Nicholson, Andrew Evans, Caroline Evans & Matthew Evans; four great grandchildren; two brothers Harvey of New Prague, MN & Lewis of Gresham, OR. . Preceding him in death are his parents, Walter and Bertha Nicholson; wife, Ida Nicholson; a daughter, Diane Nicholson; grandson, Aaron Nicholson; two brothers, (George and Russell) & two sisters (Marc & Julia).
