Boyden, Iowa Elsie F. Fick, age 87 of George formerly of Boyden, IA died on Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at the Good Samaritan Center in George, IA. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, February 16th at St. John Lutheran Church, Boyden, IA, with Rev. Daniel Hart officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Boyden, IA. Visitation will be Friday, February 15th from 2:00 to 8:00 PM with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Jurrens Funeral Home of George, IA. Elsie Frieda Fick was born on December 2, 1925 to Herman and Margaret (Heinsohn) Winter at Olivet, SD. She was baptized on January 3, 1926. In 1930, she moved with her parents and brother and sisters to a farm near Boyden, IA. On April 2, 1939, she was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, Boyden and her confirmation verse was Psalm 121:4. On December 18, 1946, Elsie was united in marriage to Alfred Fick at St. John Lutheran Church. They lived on the Fick family farm until 1990, when they retired and moved into Boyden. Elsie was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. She loved to attend Bible class and enjoyed going to the Dorcas Society meetings. She was in charge of Cradle Roll for thirty-six years. They attended many national Brown Swiss conventions. They enjoyed Senior Camps and tours sponsored by Okoboji Lutheran Bible Camp. Their international travels included Switzerland, Italy, Germany, and Australia. In 2011 Elsie moved to George, IA to be near her husband, a resident at the Good Samaritan Center. Elsie is lovingly remembered by her four children, Linda (Kent) Olson of St. Paul, MN, Pastor John (Kathy) Fick of Grand Forks, ND, Carleen (Kevin) Ringgenberg of Springdale, AR and Galen (Sandy) Fick of Boyden, IA; six grandchildren, Pastor Erik Olson of Elk Point, SD, Pastor Marie (David) Olson Purcell of San Antonio, TX, Matthew (Heidi) Fick and their daughter, Elliot Kate Fick of Williston, ND, Anna Fick of Tours, France, Kyle Ringgenberg and fianc Jamie Sammis of Fort Worth, TX and Kari Ringgenberg of Greensboro, NC; three sisters, Meta Fick, Hilda Uilk and Luella Loges; three brothers, Alvin Winter, Ruben (Louise) Winter and Norven (Delores) Winter; sister-in-law, Erma Fick; two brothers-in-law, Jurgen Oeding and Pastor Paul Albers and many nieces, nephews and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Margaret Winter; husband, Alfred Fick; sister, Louise (Raymond) Uilk; two brothers, August (Marie) Winter and Gerhard Winter; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Paul Fick, Herman Uilk, Elmer Loges, Ferdinand Fick, Anna Oeding, Rudolf Fick, Larine (Walter) Oeding, and Erna Albers.
