Larchwood, IA Verna Moser, age 75 of Larchwood, IA died Tuesday, August 26, 2008, at Tuff Memorial Home in Hills, MN. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 29th at the Apostolic Christian Church in Lester, IA with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, August 28th from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 " 8:00 p.m. at the Apostolic Christian Fellowship Hall in Lester. Verna Mae (Mogler) Moser was born November 30, 1932, on a farm near Alvord, IA, the daughter of Henry and Pauline (Dietrich) Mogler. Verna attended Logan No. 1 country school near Alvord, IA and graduated from Lester High School. She was united in marriage to Franklin Moser on October 29, 1954, at her parents home south of Lester. Verna and Franklin made their home on a farm northwest of Lester near Larchwood, where they farmed and raised their family. Verna became a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in October of 1965. All her grandchildren brought her much joy and delight. She was known for her beautiful flower gardens, great home cooked meals, tea parties with her granddaughters and remembering others with generous gifts and kind deeds. Verna became a resident of the Tuff Memorial Home on May 16, 2006, and after a lengthy battle with Parkinsons disease, she died this past Tuesday afternoon, August 26, 2008, at the age of seventy-five. She is survived by her husband of fifty-three years, Franklin; sons, Rick and his wife, Loretta Lori Moser and Brad and his wife, Gloria Moser all of Larchwood, IA; nine grandchildren: Colin, Camille, Crystal, Caley, Cari, Tyler, LaChelle, Heather and Kirk Moser; brothers, Phil (Donna) Mogler of Rock Rapids, IA; and Howard (Lillian) Mogler of Alvord, IA; sisters, Dorothy Kellenberger of Sabetha, KS; Leona (Leo) Moser of Rock Rapids, IA; Florence (Gus) Knoblock of Lester, IA; Melva Messner of Gaylord, MN and Marge Mogler of Lester, IA. Verna was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Pauline.
