Hills, MN Betty Jean Leuthold, age 80 of Hills, MN died Friday, Nov. 7, 2008 at Sanford Hospice in Luverne, MN. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday Nov. 10, 2008 at the Apostolic Christian Church in Lester. Burial will follow in the Apostolic Christian Cemetery at Lester. Visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 9th from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. with the family present at the Apostolic Christian Church Fellowship Hall. Betty Jean Leuthold was born May 6th, 1928 to John and Rose (Kellenberger) Moser in Larchwood, IA. She received her education at the Larchwood Township Country School #2. On May 22, 1946 she was united in marriage to Paul Leuthold in Rock Rapids, IA. To this union five children were born. They raised their family and farmed in the Hills and Steen area. Bettys faith and family were the most important elements of her life. She and her husband joined the Apostolic Christian Church in 1956. She was fond of flowers and always had a very large vegetable garden. She also liked to sew and made many things over the years for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that they will always cherish. Betty and Paul retired in 1985 and moved to Hills where they have lived ever since. For several years they wintered in Zapata, TX, which they enjoyed very much. Betty also liked to send cards to keep in touch with friends and loved ones. Betty suffered a massive stroke on Saturday, November 1st, and passed away at Sanford Hospice Cottage in Luverne, MN on Friday, November 7th. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Paul Leuthold; five children and their spouses, Larry (Mardi) Leuthold of Hills, MN, Bob (Cindy) Leuthold of Lester, IA, Diane (Dale) Stickling of Goodfield, IL, Becky (Dale) Wulf of Lester, IA, and Bev (Brian) Mogler of Alvord, IA; 15 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mariann (Elmer) Metzger of Lester, IA, Estelle Leuthold of Hills, MN, Evelyn (Roy) Metzger of Bloomfield, IA, Donna (John) Gerber of Doon, IA and Janet Wysong of Hills, MN; brothers, Leo (Leona) Moser of Rock Rapids, IA and Franklin Moser of Larchwood, IA, and many nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, John and Rose Moser; grandson, Drendon Stickling; great-grandson, Dalton Leuthold; brothers, John Milford Moser, Johnnie Nicholas Moser, Donald Moser and Harry Moser; and sister, Ione (Moser) DeHaan.
