George, IA Delores D. Thoelke age 81 of George, IA died Sunday, January 1, 2012 at the Sanford Hospital of Rock Rapids. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4th, 2012 at St. Paul Lutheran Church near Hull, IA with Rev. Ray Miller Officiating. Burial will follow at the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 3rd from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. with family present from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of George, IA. Delores Thoelke was born on the family farm near Hull, IA on July 10, 1930, the daughter of Arthur and Sophie (Drewes) Stoehr. She received her education from a country school north west of Hull as well as the Hull High School. Delores worked for 21 years at the Hull pharmacy. On April 6, 1973 she was united in marriage to James Bud Thoelke at St. Pauls Lutheran Church near Hull. Delores was a loving wife and active homemaker, caring for their home by baking and cooking, cleaning and tending to the daily errands, and enjoyed quilting days with the ladies at the church. She loved to baby sit her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed her weekly coffee visits from her neighbors. She was an active lifelong member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was confirmed on March 25 1945. Delores was involved in circle and taught Sunday school for thirty-nine years. Delores was a positive person and often gave complements. She and My Bud were meant for each other and did everything together. This past Sunday morning, January 1, 2012, Delores died at the Sanford Hospital in Rock Rapids at the age of eighty-one. She is survived by her husband James "Bud" Thoelke of George, IA; children, Debra (LeRoy) Jasmer of Hull; and Larry (Nancy) Thoelke of George, IA; 5 granddaughters, Rachel (David) Huyser of Rock Rapids, Rebekah Jasmer of Hull, Michelle (Matthew) Blum of Superior, NE, Krista (Doug) Dykstra of George, and Angie Petersen of George; 6 great-grandchildren, Maitland Dykstra, Courtney Dykstra, Karli Petersen, Sean Dykstra, Dayna Petersen and Nicole Huyser. Delores was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Sophie Stoehr; and brother, Lloyd Stoehr.
