Notice: Sibley, Iowa Ronald Reinke, age 64 of Sibley, IA died Friday, September 10, 2010 at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley after a four month illness. A celebration of life is planned for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church (704 Poplar Dr. Sibley, IA 51249), with Rev. Susan Weier officiating. A private family inurnment will take place at the Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley, IA. Full military honors will be provided by the George E. Mudge Post 324 American Legion and the William F. Allard Post No. 7373 VFW. The Patriot Guard will also be present. Ronald Reinke was born on June 1, 1946 in Sibley, IA to Alvin Reinke and Elsie (Verdoorn) Reinke. He grew up on farms near Ashton, IA and attended grade school in Ashton. He graduated from Sibley Public Schools in 1964. In 1965 he entered the Army and served a tour of duty in Viet Nam. Ronald married Pamela Whaylen on August 3, 1966. They lived on the family farm until they moved to Sibley four years ago. Ron farmed and did custom metal fabricating in his business, Country Customs. Ron also built furniture and did stained glass work. Ronald and Pamela have one son, Adam, who lives on the family farm with his wife Stacy (Rueter) Reinke and their two children, Olivia 6 and Rex 2 ½ years old. Ron leaves four sisters, Sharon Dornon, of Sioux City, Deb Jorgensen and her husband, Jerry, also of Sioux City, Carol Seivert and her husband, Walt, of rural Ashton, and Charlotte Holzer and her husband, Bill, of Westphalia, IA. He also leaves his maternal aunt, Joanne Shoemaker, of Fairfield, IA, his maternal uncle, Jack Verdoorn, and his wife, Judy, of Brandon SD along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
