Sandra Catherine Clay

Johnston, IA & Sibley, IA Sandra Catherine Clay, 74, passed away peacefully July 18, 2013 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, IA. Funeral services will be July 22, 2013 at 10:30 a.m at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Sibley, IA with burial to follow at St. Andrew's Catholic cemetery. The daughter of Raymond and Gladys Mauch, Sandra was born November 17, 1938 in Adrian, MN and grew up in Sibley, IA. Sandra graduated from College of Saint Mary and became a teacher before devoting her life to raising three boys in Ankeny, IA. A long time resident of Ankeny, IA, she spent her remaining years under the loving care of the Altoona Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Altoona, IA. Sandra is survived by three sons and their wives, Jeffrey and Shelley Clay of Ankeny, IA, Christopher and Julianne Clay of Highlands Ranch, CO, Jonathan and Lisa Clay of Urbandale, IA, eight grandchildren, Kyle, Jacob, Garrett, Conner, Anna, Keaton, Caleb, Megan, sister Sonja Arnold of Monument, CO, brother Doug Mauch of Sibley, IA, and sister Shelly Hartzell of Spencer, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents. Take comfort mom knowing that death is not an end but a means by which you are released from the suffering and a pathway to a new and eternal life.
