Sibley, IA Mildred F. Roos, age 94of Sibley, died Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at the Country View Manor in Sibley, Iowa. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Monday, December 6, 2010 at the United Methodist Church in Sibley, with Reverend Charles Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow in the Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley. Visitation will be Sunday, December 5th with the family present from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley. Mildred Faye Roos was born in Matlock, Iowa on April 9, 1916 to Leonard and Anna (Hickman) Stanton. She graduated from high school in Little Rock, Iowa in 1934. She was united in marriage to Cyril Roos on June 27, 1936 in Rock Rapids, Iowa. Mildred worked in the Sibley drug stores for twenty-eight years. She was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church, where she served with the United Methodist Women. Mildred was blessed with many loving friends and relatives and enjoyed many cups of tea and homemade cookies with them. She also enjoyed crocheting, baking, going to Dinner Date, and taking care of her dog. She was a woman of deep faith who read her Bible daily. Mildred is survived by her son, Ron (Mel) Roos of Sioux Falls, SD; two grandchildren, Pat (Melanie) Roos and Joe (Jodi) Roos; one step-granddaughter, Julia Gardner; three great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Cyril and two brothers, Lloyd and Donald Stanton.
