George, IA Lila Hansmann, age 82 of George, IA died Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at the Edgewood Vista Assisted Living in Sioux Falls, SD, where she had been a resident the past one and a half years. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Immanuel Lutheran Church of George with Rev. Tony Metz officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Lawn Cemetery at George. Visitation will be Friday April 2nd from 2:00 " 6:00 p.m. with the family present from 4:00 " 6:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of George. Lila Mavis Hansmann was born on June 27, 1927, the daughter of Lewis and Hattie (Pals) Wibben in rural George, IA. She grew up in George and attended Coleman Independent Country School north of George. On July 21, 1944, Lila was united in marriage to Elmer Hansmann at the Bethel Reformed Church, George, IA. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in George. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, quilting at church, shopping and cooking for her family. Everyone loved her meals and pies. Lila liked to take her grandchildren and great-grandchildren to shows, fairs and her granddaughters shopping for Prom dresses. Her great-grandchildren always said, Great-grandma Rocks! She is survived by three children, Judy (husband, Harry) Faber of Rock Rapids, IA, Dennis (wife, Ellen) Hansmann of George, IA and Dale (wife, Jennifer) Hansmann of Parkersburg, IA; six grandchildren, Gina (husband, Kelly) Heath of Sioux Falls, SD, Brett (wife, Stacie) Faber of Aurora, NE, Chad Hansmann of George, IA, Marni (husband, Brian) Vande Kamp of George, IA, Jamie (husband, Jeff) Kuhne of Grove City, OH and Megan Hansmann (fianc, Ukpong Eyo) of Iowa City, IA; and fourteen great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her dearest friend and neighbor, Agnes Kruse of George, IA. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Hattie Wibben.
