GEORGE, IOWA Daryl Huff age 60 of Rock Rapids, IA died Monday June 15, 2009 at Sanford Hospital in Rock Rapids. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 18th at Immanuel Lutheran Church at George with Rev. Tony Metz, officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Lawn Cemetery at George. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00 " 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 " 8:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of George. Daryl Duane Huff was born August 11, 1948 at Sibley, IA the son of Virgil and Ardyce (Greve) Huff. Daryl grew up on the family farm where he attended country school and later George Community School, graduating in 1966. After high school he attended college in Estherville, IA and then served his country in the military. Upon his honorable discharge he returned home to George. He was united in marriage to Marge Kruse in 1974 at Immanuel Lutheran Church at George. They made their home in Rock Rapids and for many years. Daryl worked in Sioux Falls as a welder. His God given talent was being a Dad. He raised his family with pride, especially dedicating the last 14 years of his life to raising his only daughter Allison. Daryl enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He liked to visit and have a good conversation with family, friends and neighbors. He was an avid Dodgers fan and he also enjoyed playing golf and shooting pool and following NASCAR. This past Monday morning, June 15, 2009, Daryl died at the Sanford Hospital in Rock Rapids at the age of sixty. He is survived by his children, Gary (Angela) Anderson of Rock Rapids; Jeremy Anderson of Rock Valley, IA; Adam Huff of Sioux Falls, SD; Matthew Huff of Sioux Falls, SD and his fianc, Sarah Schanzenbach of Sioux Falls, SD and Allison Huff of Spencer, SD; seven grandchildren; mother, Ardyce Huff of George, IA; his siblings, Sheryl (Dennis) Baucom of Centennial, CO; Dianne (Gene) Vogl of Rock Rapids, IA; Dave (Cathy) Huff of George, IA and Deb Beres (and Dean Johnson) of Worthing, SD. Daryl was preceded in death by his father, Virgil in 1994.
