Sibley, IA Maxine Brody, age 88 of Bigelow, MN died Saturday, December 3, 2011 at the Country View Manor in Sibley, IA. Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at the United Methodist Church in Sibley, with Pastor Shannon Pascual officiating. Private burial for family will take place prior to the service in the Ocheyedan Township Cemetery in Ocheyedan, IA. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 6th from 2-8 p.m. with the family present from 6-8 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley. Maxine (Creech) Brody was born on May 22, 1923 in Argyle, MO, the daughter of Paul and Marie Creech. She attended Sibley High School. On June 16, 1943, she was united in marriage to Don Brody in Worthington, MN; while Don was on military furlough. When Don returned from the war they started farming and after a few years they moved to a farm just off highway 59 north of Allendorf, IA. Max enjoyed being a housewife and loved being a mother to their five children. She liked to read books, play pinochle and spend time with her family and friends. On December 3, 2011 at the age of 88, Max went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Max is survived by the love of her life and husband, Don; son, Dale Brody (and his wife Lavonne) of Blue Springs, MO; three daughters, Donna Batye of Kansas City, MO, Diane Duggan (and her husband John) of Kansas City, MO and Nancy Henderson of Plymouth, MN; 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Bobbie Truckenmiller (and her husband Dennis) of Sibley, IA and Carol Creech of Alexandria, VA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Marie Creech; parents-in-law, Gordon and Clara Brody; one son, Craig Brody; one brother, Bill Creech; one sister, Louise Voight (and her husband Gene); two sisters-in-law, Darlene Alexander (and her husband Ray) and Joyceln Deaver (and her husband Leonard). Her greatest love and joy was her family and she will be greatly missed by all of them.
