Winifred Cornelia Reck

NOTICE: Rock Rapids, IA Winifred Reck, age 79 of Rock Rapids, IA, died Saturday, April 28, 2007 at the Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Wednesday, May 2nd at Bethel Reformed Church at rural Ellsworth, MN, with Rev. Gary Hanson officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 1st from 2 " 8 PM, with the family present from 6 " 8 PM at the Roste Funeral Home of Rock Rapids. Winifred Cornelia Reck was born on September 16, 1927, on a farm place near the Midland elevator northeast of Rock Rapids the daughter of John and Cornelia Kate (Stip) Stubbe. She attended and graduated in 1945 from Wilson High School in Rock Rapids. On February 14, 1947, Winifred was united in marriage to Peter Reck at the Bethel Reformed Church, rural Ellsworth, MN. She was a faithful member of the Bethel Reformed Church for sixty years, where she was active as a Sunday school teacher, Catechism teacher and as a member of the Dorcas Circle. Winifred enjoyed embroidering, reading, farming with her husband and she especially loved having her grandchildren around. Winifred is survived by her husband of sixty years, Peter Reck of Rock Rapids; one son, Norman (wife Diane) Reck of Rock Rapids; two grandchildren, Dustin and Briana; one brother, LeRoy (wife Betty) Stubbe of St. Louis, MO; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Kate Stubbe; one sister, Cornelia Selken; one brother-in-law, Wendell Selken and one sister-in-law, Pat Stubbe. Ellsworth, MN.
