FUNERAL NOTICE: Sibley, IA Aleta Rehms age 89 of Sibley, died Friday, April 27, 2007, at Country View Manor in Sibley. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 30th, at Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock, IA with Rev. Brian Hellenga, officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery at Little Rock. Visitation will be Sunday, April 29th, from 2:00 " 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 2:00 " 4:00 p.m. at the Walton-Roste Funeral Home of Sibley. Aleta Lorraine (Duis) Rehms was born April 25, 1918 in Viola Township, Osceola County, Iowa, to Frank and Tena (Ebbenga) Duis. She was the youngest of three girls. Aleta was baptized at the Evangel Lutheran Church in Viola Township, Iowa. Aleta was raised on a farm in Osceola County. She received her 8th grade education from Viola Township Country School. Aleta was member of the 4-H Club for many years. Aleta was united in marriage to Arnold Rehms September 1, 1940 at Fort Dodge, Iowa. They farmed in the Osceola County, and later purchased her parents farm in 1963, where they build a new house. They retired in 1981 and remained on their farm. In September 2000, Aleta became a resident of Country View Manor, Sibley, Iowa and remained there until her death, April 27, 2007. Aleta will be remembered for her love of gardening, sewing, cooking, and canning. She especially liked the time she spent with her family and friends. Aleta also enjoyed watching and feeding the birds, and her cats. Aleta will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Esther Venenga, Tyler, MN; nieces, Janet Venenga, Tyler, Karen (Jerry) Minett, Ruthton, MN, Joan (Marlin) Winsel, Freeport, IL, and Anita (Larry) Thomsen, Tyler, MN; brothers-in-law, Marvin (Karen) Rehms and Darvin (Mary) Rehms, sisters-in-law, Evelyn Rehms and Cloretta Rehms, their families and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Arnold on May 6th, 2001, her parents, her sister Frances Vaselaar; brothers in law, Jack Vaselaar, Frank Venenga and Elmer Rehms. Blessed be her memory.
