Beverly Schreurs

NOTICE: Larchwood, Iowa Beverly Schreurs, age 83 of Larchwood, IA died unexpectedly Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Memorial service will be 1:00 PM Monday, Aug. 29th at United Church of Christ in Larchwood, IA with Pastor Kelly Volk officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Larchwood Cemetery in Larchwood. Visitation will be Sunday, Aug. 28th with the family present from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the United Church of Christ in Larchwood. Jurrens Funeral Home of Larchwood is in charge of services. Beverly Jean Schreurs was born August 6, 1928 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the daughter of Edward and Irene (Pruitt) Anderson. She was raised in Larchwood, IA and attended the Larchwood Public school. She graduated in 1945 and continued her education at University of South Dakota at Vermilion, SD, where she studied business. Bev was united in marriage to Joseph P. Joe Schreurs on September 11, 1947. Together they remained in Larchwood, while Bev commuted to work at First National Bank in Sioux Falls, SD. She then later worked at Security Saving Bank in Larchwood, retiring in April of 1986. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Larchwood her whole life, singing in the choir since age 15, 50 year member of the Eastern Star, and the Women of the Moose. She and Joe enjoyed dancing, playing cards, camping and fishing. Bev enjoyed music, bus trips, reading, and relaxing in her yard. After a recent illness, Bev died unexpectedly this past Thursday, August 25, 2011, with her family by her side. Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Bonnie Jo Kramer of Garretson, SD and Pam Schreurs of Minneapolis, MN; one daughter-in-law, Carol Schreurs of Walker, MN four grandchildren, Paul Kramer, Nick Schreurs, Pete (Fianc, Shonci Geranen) Kramer and Brian Schreurs; one great-grandchild, Kenley Henderson-Schreurs; one brother, Jay (Betty) Anderson of Custer, SD; one sister, Betty (Bud) Smith of Brandon, SD; one brother-in-law, Floyd (Mary Ellen) Schreurs of Rock Rapids, IA; one sister-in-law, Jean (Joe) Cadwell of Sioux Falls, SD; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Joe Schreurs; one son, Jay Schreurs; one son-in-law, Garry Kramer; and one niece, Lisa Anderson.
