Marilyn David, age 59 of Steen, MN died Monday, March 16, 2009 at her residence in Steen, MN. Memorial service will be 3:00 PM, Saturday, March 21st at the Reformed Church of Steen in Steen, MN. Visitation will be Saturday, March 21st from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM at the Reformed Church of Steen, with lunch to follow in the church fellowship hall. Marilyn David was born October 27, 1949 in Luverne, Minnesota, the daughter of Harvey John and Emily L. (Miller) Scholten. She was raised on the family farm north of Steen. She attended Steen Elementary School and graduated from Hills Beaver Creek High School in 1968. She moved to Luverne, MN where she was a stay at home mother. She worked for several years with the handicap at Sioux Vocational Services. She then moved to Faribault, MN and worked at the Minnesota State Prison. She last worked for Covenant Aviation Security as a Transportation Security Officer in Sioux Falls, SD. She was a member of the Reformed Church of Steen. She enjoyed hunting for rocks, planting flowers, loving all of her pets, going to the Renaissance Festival and spending time with her family. Her family remembers their mother, sister, aunt, cousin, as a woman who tried to enjoy every moment of every day. Marilyn was diagnosed with cancer in 2003 and she courageously fought with the support of numerous friends and family. This past Monday, March 16, 2009, Marilyn passed away at her home in Steen, MN, at the age of 59. Marilyn is survived by two children, Bobbi Jo Quigley of Steen, MN and David L. (wife, Kari) Peake of Lake Benton, MN; four grandchildren, Sammi, Jamari, Ella and Carter; three brothers, Jerry (wife, Sue) Scholten of Phoenix, AZ, Bob (wife, Marge) Scholten of Wheatland, WY and Lynn (wife, Sheri) Scholten of Rothsay, MN; special friends, Joann Brinkman and Kim Rossow and several nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey J. and Emily L. Scholten.
