DEATH NOTICE: Little Rock, Iowa Donald H. Harms, age 90 of Little Rock, IA died Wednesday, November 01, 2006 at the Sibley Nursing & Rehab Center in Sibley, IA. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M., Saturday, November 4, 2006 at the Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock, with Reverend Brian Hellenga officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Little Rock. Visitation with the family present will be from 2-8 P.M. on Friday, November 3rd, at the Walton-Roste Funeral Home of Sibley. Donald Harm Harms was born on August 18, 1916, the son of George B. and Talena (Mammen) Harms in Little Rock, Iowa. On January 18, 1939, he married Lillian Emma Hindt at the Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock. The couple farmed in Rushmore, MN, Ashton, Iowa and Little Rock, Iowa until 1963. Don then worked as a custodian and bus driver at the Little Rock Community School for eighteen years retiring in 1981. Don was a lifelong member of the Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock. His hobbies included fishing, camping, woodworking and dancing to old time music. Donald is survived by three children: Gene (wife Geri) Harms of Milford, IA, Phyllis (husband Don) Kruger of Sibley, and Merle (wife Lois) Harms of Story City, IA; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren: Curt (wife Lori) Harms, their children Jeremy and Jessica, Troy (wife Ann) Harms, their children Logan and Chace, Rhonda (husband Sam) Otten, their children Skylar, Kainan and Ashton, Amy (husband Gary) Moet, Lisa (husband Matt) Tangeman, Darrin (wife Susan) Kruger, Dawn (husband Justin) Sorenson, their children Reid and Rylie, Hiedi (husband Jake) Chodur, their son Jarrett, Jennifer (husband Brian) Sink and Steven Harms; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parent, one son in infancy, wife Lillian, two sisters and one brother.
