Steen, MN Pearl P. Groen, age 84 of Steen, MN died Saturday, November 25, 2006 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral Service will be 10:30 AM, Wednesday, November 29th at the Steen Reformed Church in Steen, MN, with Rev. Dan Ramaker officiating. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery at Rock Rapids. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 28th from 2 " 8 PM, with the family present from 6 " 8 PM at the Roste Funeral Home of Hills, MN. Pearl Groen was born on August 10, 1922, the daughter of Cornelius and Adreanna (Van Dis) Palsrok. She was raised on a farm and attended country schools near Rock Rapids, Iowa. In 1967, she graduated from Stewart School of Hairstyling, Sioux Falls, S.D. and opened her own salon in Rock Rapids. On December 17th, 1969, she married Clarence Groen and moved to Rock Valley, Iowa. In 1973, Pearl and Clarence moved to a farm near Steen, MN. where they resided until 1991. Pearl became a resident of Tuff Memorial Home, Hills, MN in September, 2005. Pearl and Clarence enjoyed visiting friends and family including a trip to Holland to meet several cousins. Pearl is survived by her husband, Clarence of Steen, MN; daughter Nancy R. Brinkman Walker (Timothy) of Des Moines, Iowa; son Allan L. Brinkman (Mary), Luverne, MN; step-daughter Agnes Maassen (John), Valley Springs, S.D.; step-sons Dean Groen (Glenda), Luverne, MN and Curtis Groen (Marilyn) of Dell Rapids, S.D.; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Pearl was preceded in death by husbands Edward Bowman, Louis M. Brinkman, son Edward E. Bowman, her parents and four sisters.
