Rock Rapids, IA Dale Kuper age 67 of Rock Rapids, IA died Thursday, February 8, 2007, at the Merrill Pioneer Community Hospital in Rock Rapids, IA. The family will gather on Monday, Feb. 12th at 10:00 AM at the Roste Funeral Home of Rock Rapids and process to the Ebenezer Stateline Presbyterian Cemetery of rural Rock Rapids for a 10:30 AM graveside service, with Rev. Katie Van Veldhuizen officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 " 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the Roste Funeral Home of Rock Rapids. Dale Edward Kuper was born on February 3, 1940 in Luverne, MN, the son of Edward J. and Eunice (Bunte) Kuper. He grew up on a farm near Luverne, MN and later graduated from Luverne High School in 1957. Dale then attended the University of Minnesota, Mankato State University in Mankato, MN, and a business school in Minneapolis, MN. As a young man he was very active in 4-H. Dale served in the National Guard for seven years. On August 12, 1961, he was united in marriage to Sandra Jepsen in Waterville, MN. The couple lived in Roseville, MN from 1961 to 1973, and then moved to Mankato, MN in 1973. During this time Dale worked in banking, later becoming President of the National Bank of Commerce in Mankato. In 1997, Dale moved to Rock Rapids and purchased Corral Lanes until selling it this past July. Dale was a member of the Rock Rapids Country Club, Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Rex Strait American Legion Post 103 of Rock Rapids. His passion was golf. He also enjoyed bowling and playing cards. A fond memory of Dales was standing at the 18th hole of the Pebble Beach Golf Course with his high school classmate, last winter. Dale is survived by two daughters, Jenny (Wade) Adams of North Mankato, MN and Amy Kuper of Mankato, MN; one son, John (Melinda) Kuper of Temple, TX; four grandchildren, Ashley Houston, Chesney Kuper, Tyler Adams and Anthony Wilson; one brother, Doug (Barb) Kuper of Beaver Creek, MN; former wife, Sandra Kuper of Mankato, MN; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
