Lester, Iowa Wilhelm Wulf, age 91 of Sabetha, KS, formerly of Lester, IA died Saturday, June 16, 2007 at the Apostolic Christian Home in Sabetha, KS. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday at the Apostolic Christian Church in Lester, IA with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Apostolic Christian Church Fellowship Hall in Lester and one hour prior to the funeral at the church (9:00 AM Wednesday.) Wilhelm Bill Martin Wulf was born April 19, 1916, to Albert and Maria (Knobloch) Wulf on a farm Southwest of Lester, IA. He grew up and attended country school northwest of Lester. Bill became a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in 1949. On September 2, 1951, he was united in marriage with Leona Banwart at West Bend, IA. They raised their family while farming south of Hills, MN. In 1978, they retired and moved into Hills, and in his retirement he worked at Pamida and Butter Braid. In 1996, they moved to the Lester Retirement Apartments. After residing in assisted living and the nursing home, he passed away at the Apostolic Christian Nursing Home in Sabetha, KS, on June 16, 2007, at the age of ninety-one. He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Leona of Sabetha, KS; and seven children, Carol (Dave) Knapp of Roanoke, IL; Dale (Becky) Wulf of Lester, IA; Darlene (Arden) Stoller of Sabetha, KS; Arnold (Myra) Wulf of Sioux Falls, SD; Julie (Jon) Schmidgall of Mediapolis, IA; Stanley (Pam) Wulf of Morris, MN; and Leroy (Carolyn) Wulf of Mediapolis, IA; also surviving are 26 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Amelia Roemen of Inwood, IA; Mildred (Virgil) Sauder of Morris, MN and Leah (Dick) Doorneweerd of Beaver Creek, MN; sisters-in-law, Violet Wulf of Morris, MN and Alice Wulf of Lester, IA; brother-in-law, Ray (Violet) Luthi of Lamar, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Emil, Jacob, Leonard and Lawrence; three sisters, Emma Wulf, Karoline Doorneweerd and Marilyn Luthi and one grandson, Landon Wulf. Memorials may be given to his church, Aposotlic Christian Home for the Handicapped, or Apostolic Christian Home of Sebetha.
