GEORGE, IA Judy Dieken, age 51 of George, IA died Monday, April 26, 2010 as a result of a traffic accident north of Sioux Center, IA. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 29th at Lyon County First Presbyterian Church at George, IA with Rev. Paul Fischer, officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Lawn Cemetery at George. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 28th from 2:00 " 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 " 8:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of George. Judy Marie (McNabb) Dieken was born July 31, 1958, at St. Paul, MN the daughter of Donald and Virginia (Vincent) McNabb. Judy grew up at St. Paul, MN, where she attended school and graduated from Johnson High School in 1977. She then attended St. Paul Technical College, graduating with a medical receptionist diploma. Upon graduation she worked for a dermatologist in St. Paul. Judy was united in marriage to Michael Dieken on May 14, 1988, at Epwirth Methodist Church in St. Paul, MN. They made their home in St. Paul until August of 1998, when they moved to George. Judy began working at the Eye Care Center in Sheldon and later started to work for the Sioux Center Community Medical Clinic in Sioux Center, IA as a medical receptionist. She was an active member at Lyon County First Presbyterian Church of George. She taught Sunday school, Bible school and has served as the Sunday school superintendent. A memorable and influential experience in her faith was when she attended Cursillo. She was a loving mother and wife, who was proud of her family. Her smile and laugh showed others her love for life. This past Monday afternoon, Judy was involved in a traffic accident which claimed her life at the age of fifty-one. She is survived by her husband, Michael Dieken of George; their children, Danielle and Samuel of George and Zachary Dieken, attending Northwestern College in Orange City, IA; one brother, Michael (Barb) McNabb of Burnsville, MN; two sisters, Bunny (Dan) McNabb-Brooks of Brooklyn Park, MN and Cathy (Randy) Berg of St. Paul, MN; along with two aunts; four nieces and several cousins. Judy was preceded in death by her parents and two uncles. The family of Judy Dieken request memorials in lieu of flowers.
