Little Rock, IA Robert E. Heidebrink age 78 of Little Rock, IA died Wednesday August 28, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Society in George, IA. Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, August 31st at Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock, IA, with Rev. Michael Weaver officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Little Rock. Visitation will be Friday, August 30th from 4:00 to 7:30 p.m., with the family present from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Jurrens Funeral Home of Little Rock. Robert Eugene Heidebrink was born on September 23, 1934, the son of Onno and Pauline (Stierler) Heidebrink in Little Rock, IA. He attended school in Little Rock and graduated from Little Rock High School in 1952. After graduation he did carpentry work. In 1956, Robert was united in marriage to Elaine J. Solma at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Following their marriage Robert worked as a milk hauler, drove gravel truck and then managed Joes Ready Mix for thirty years, retiring in 2003. He and his wife Elaine lived most of their married life near Little Rock. Robert was a member of the Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock, where he served as a Deacon and on the Consistory. He also served as a member of the Little Rock Fire Department and Town & Country Club. Robert was an avid sports fan and loved to watch the Iowa Hawkeyes play. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and tinkering in his garage. He especially loved spending time with his family and following his grandchildrens activities. He will be greatly missed. Robert is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Elaine Heidebrink of Little Rock, IA; Three children, Robin (Karlene) Heidebrink of Piedmont, SD, Dawn (Roger) Meinerts of Rock Rapids, IA and Rick (Belinda) Heidebrink of Worthington, MN; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Glenda (Darold) Hollander of Branson, MO and Mavis Palmer of Spirit Lake, IA; one brother-in-law, Dale (Joyce) Solma; and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Onno and Pauline Heidebrink; one brother, Arnold Heidebrink; parents-in-law, Hiko and Dora Solma; two sisters-in-law, Marilyn Heidebrink and Valoris Willemssen; two brothers-in-law, Bill Palmer and Walter Willemssen; and nephew, Scot Willemssen.
