George, IA Martin F. Kruse, age 89 of George, IA died Friday, May 3, 2013, at the Good Samaritan Society at George, IA. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 6th at Hope Reformed Church at George, IA with Rev. David Poppen and Rev. David Vander Laan officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Lawn Cemetery at George. Visitation will be Sunday, May 5th from 2:00 " 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of George. Martin F. Kruse was born on October 2, 1923, at George, IA the son of Martha (Geick) and Ernest Kruse. Martin grew up on the farm and attended country school thru the eighth grade. As a young man in 1945, Martin served in the Navy for two years before being honorably discharged. On August 3, 1956, Martin was united in marriage to Marian Eberline at the Ebenezer Presbyterian parsonage. They made their home on the farm southwest of George. Martin was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and a kind-hearted man. Martin was a farmer and also owned and operated K&D TV. He farmed and was a TV-Radio repairman for many years and retired in 1982. On December 25, 2008, his wife, of 52 years, died unexpectedly. Martin continued to live on the farm until June of 2012, when he became a resident of the Good Samaritan Center at George where he died this past Friday morning, May 3, 2013, at the age of eighty-nine. He is survived by his children, Ginger (Merle) Van Roekel of Boyden, IA; Margaret Klein of Paulina, IA; Audrey (Dean) Zoet of Sheldon, IA; Jim (Cleone) Kruse of George; Mark Kruse of George; Mary (Darin) Anson of Little Rock, IA; Martha (Ricky) Kruse of Corinth, MS; Sharon Kruse of Ashton, IA; and Paul (Cindy) Kruse of Sioux Falls, SD; along with nineteen grandchildren, Bradlee (Lorinda) Van Roekel; Leslee (Gwen)Van Roekel; Arlyn Klein; Melissa Klein; Trisha (Ryan) Dau; Cheree (Rich) Zeigler; Christopher (Tami) Koele; Eric (Vicky) Koele; Nathan (Ashley) Kruse; Lila Klein; Penny (Eric) Moser; Kory (Danielle) Klein; Ryan (Mandy) Klein; Matthew (Desirae) Kruse; Jamie Stallman; Nicholas Stallman; Marcus Kruse; Marceia Brown and Joshua (Bliss) Kruse; thirty-four great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ardis (Harold) Korthals of George. Martin was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Martha Kruse; wife, Marian; daughter, Janice Kruse; grandson, Michael Paul Koele and son-in-law, Arnie Klein.
