Kathy Knobloch

Rock Rapids, Iowa Kathy Knobloch, age 48 of Rock Rapids, IA died Monday, March 10, 2008 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 15th at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Rapids, IA, with Rev. Dave Christiansen officiating. Inurnment will be at the Riverview Cemetery at Rock Rapids. Visitation will be Friday, March 14th from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Kathy Jo Knobloch was born on July 10, 1959 in Rock Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Dale and Wilma (Dieters) Schubert. She grew up in Rock Rapids and attended Central Lyon Community Schools, graduating in 1977. After high school she attended Spencer School of Business for one year. She returned to Rock Rapids and began working a K-Products and remained there for 25 plus years. Kathy married Doug Knobloch on July 18, 1981 and they were blessed with two daughters, Candra and Jessica. She then worked one year at Lee Seeds in Inwood, before working at Sunshine Foods Grocery in Rock Rapids, where she managed the dairy and frozen foods section. Kathy enjoyed baking, reading, watching The Food Network, doing crafts and following her daughters activities. Her battle with cancer began in May of 2007. She fought valiantly throughout several occurrences of the debilitating illness, and rebounded by her shear determination. Kathys battle ended this past Monday, March 10th at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 48. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, daughter, sister and friend. Kathy always seemed unaffected by the challenges of life showing her ever present smile to everyone she met. She is survived by her husband, Doug Knobloch of Rock Rapids, IA; parents, Dale and Wilma Schubert of Rock Rapids, IA; two daughters, Candra Knobloch of Sioux City, IA and Jessica Knobloch of Rock Rapids, IA; two sisters, Kay (Kendall) De Groot of Doon, IA, and Sue (Ron) Boogerd of Rock Rapids, IA; parents-in-law, Dale and Mary Knobloch of Larchwood, IA; and many nieces and nephews, and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
