Little Rock, IA Kenneth E. Dammann, age 85 formerly of Little Rock, IA died Thursday, September 22, 2011 at his home in Round Lake, MN. Funeral service will be 10:30 AM Monday, September 26, 2011 at the Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock, IA, with Reverend David Vander Laan officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Little Rock, with military honors by the Buss-Johnson American Legion Post No. 316. Visitation will be Sunday, September, 25th from 2-6 PM with the family present from 4-6 PM at the Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock, IA. Kenneth Eugene Dammann was born on October 28, 1925 in Grant Township, rural Little Rock, IA, the son of William R. and Anna (Jutting) Dammann. He grew up in Little Rock and attended school there through the eighth grade. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on May 23, 1946 and was honorably discharged on October 22, 1947. On April 28, 1952, he was united in marriage to LuEtta Russman at the Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock. Ken worked several different jobs throughout his life. He worked as a truck driver, hauling livestock and milk and then worked for Hogan Construction. Ken and his wife later owned and operated the Little Rock Locker Plant. Ken was a member of the Salem Reformed Church, the Buss-Johnson American Legion Post No. 316 and was a 4-H leader for a time. He enjoyed woodworking, watching his grandchildren at their sporting events and enjoyed hearing their stories of hunting, fishing and 4-H livestock shows. He was an avid fan of the Twins and Cubs baseball teams. Ken made the best peanut brittle and shared it with his family and friends, and also enjoyed baking cookies every Saturday morning, while he listened to the Country Wax Museum on the radio. The highlight of this past year was becoming a great-grandfather for the first time to Aubrey Ann Winters. Kenneth is survived by three children, Tim (Lisa) Dammann of Little Rock, IA, Miriam (Paul) Cunningham of Round Lake, MN and Naomi (Bruce) Lubben of Worthington, MN; seven grandchildren, Thomas (Angie) Cunningham of Round Lake, MN, Sarah (Eric) Winters of Heron Lake, MN, Benjamin Cunningham of Round Lake, MN, Brett Dammann of Sioux Falls, SD, Jordan Dammann of Little Rock, IA, Stephanie Lubben of Worthington, MN and Kristi Lubben of Worthington, MN; one great-grandchild, Aubrey Winters; one brother, Marvin (Theresa) Dammann; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Anna Dammann; wife, LuEtta Dammann; two sisters, Erma Duin and Elva Jean Behrens; and one brother, Edward Dammann.
