Sibley & Little Rock, IA Dena Broesder, age 94 of Sibley, IA, formerly of Little Rock, IA died Saturday October 26, 2013 at Sibley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Sibley, IA. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, October 30th at First Presbyterian Church in Little Rock, with Reverend Scott Burdsall officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Little Rock. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 29th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church in Little Rock. Dena Mae Broesder was born on September 17, 1919 near Little Rock, IA, the daughter of Harm and Freda (Wiertsema) Schilling. Dena attended country school there. On January 24, 1940, she was united in marriage to Dick Broesder at the First Presbyterian Church in Little Rock, IA. After forty-five years of marriage Denas husband Dick passed away on August 13, 1985. She enjoyed gardening, working with flowers, playing cards, listening to polka music, fishing and watching the Chicago Cubs and the Minnesota Twins on TV. Dena is survived by three sisters-in-law, Betty Schilling of Sibley, IA, Tillie Meester and Jennie Lenz both of Ellsworth, MN; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick; three brothers, John, George and Herbert Schilling; and two sisters, Johanna Krull and Gert Kruger.
