Sibley, IA James LeRoy Toal, age 96 of Sibley, IA died Monday, December 03, 2012 at Country View Manor in Sibley, IA. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Friday, December 7, 2012 at the St. Andrews Catholic Church in Sibley, with Father John Vakulskas as celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Andrews Catholic Cemetery in Sibley. Visitation will be Thursday, December 6th from 5-8 PM at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley. There will be a rosary at 5:00 PM and a vigil service at 7:30 PM Thursday evening. James LeRoy Toal was born on June 26, 1916, the son of Daniel and Roleffa (Cooper) Toal in Sanborn, IA. He grew up in Sanborn and attended Sanborn High School. On February 27, 1946, LeRoy married Florence Welch in Sanborn. LeRoy and Florence lived in Sanborn for a few years and then in the early 1950s they moved to Sibley, IA, where LeRoy had secured a job with the creamery (AMPI). LeRoy was a member of the St. Andrews Catholic Church in Sibley. He and his wife were very active in Boy and Girl Scouts. In LeRoys spare time he liked to latch hook and pretty punch. He enjoyed gardening and loved to walk around town even when it wasnt very nice outside. On September 9, 2002, LeRoys wife Florence passed away after fifty-six years of marriage. Then four years later in December of 2006, he moved into the Country View Manor where he passed away this past Monday, December 3, 2012 at the age of ninety-six. LeRoy is survived by three children, Terry (Sandy) Toal of Sioux Falls, SD, Steven (Mari) Toal of Germantown, MD and Randy Toal of Sioux City, IA; two grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Toal; and two brothers, Edward and Charles Toal.
