Ireton, IA formerly of George, IA Shirley Timmer, age 66 of Ireton, IA, formerly of George, IA died Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at the Avera-McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 15th at Hope Reformed Church at George, IA. Burial will follow in the Hope Reformed Cemetery at George. Visitation will be Friday, March 14th from 2:00 " 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 " 8:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of George. Shirley Dell (Snuttjer) Timmer was born April 7, 1941, at Doon, IA the daughter of Peter and Edna (Fiihr) Snuttjer. Shirley grew up on a farm west and north of George where she attended country school. She graduated from George High School in 1959. On September 29, 1961, Shirley was united in marriage to Marvin Timmer at Hope Reformed Church. Shirley and Marvin made their home on a farm west and north of George, where they raised their family and worked the land. Shirley enjoyed working on the farm and making donuts at Caseys General Store in George. In her spare time she liked painting ceramics, cross stitch, baking and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Hope Reformed Church at George. This past Tuesday March 11, 2008, she passed away at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of sixty-six years, eleven months and four days. She is survived by her husband, Marvin Timmer of Ireton; their children, Marlene Timmer and special friend, Jason Johnson and family of George; Myron Timmer of LeMars, IA; Marsha and her husband, Brent DeBoom of Sioux Center, IA; Milton Timmer and special friend, Kari Hoogendoorn of Sioux Center, IA; Mike Timmer and fianc, Amanda Simpson of Hawarden, IA; five grandchildren, Ashley Eben and fianc Chris Johnson, Amanda Eben, Jake Pedersen, Paige DeBoom and Amelia Timmer; one great grandson, Cole Johnson; stepmother, Elsie Snuttjer of Prairie du Chien, WI; brother, Gene and his wife, Wanda Snuttjer of Sioux City, IA; brother-in-law, Art and his wife, Gertrude Timmer of Adrian, MN; sisters-in-law, Lorenza and her husband, Jim Kruse of Jasper, MN; and Janelle and her husband, Keith Van Drunen of George. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Edna Snuttjer.
