George, IA Angeline H. Elias, age 93 of Sibley, IA died on Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010 at the Rock Rapids Health Centre. Funeral service will be 1:30 PM, Jan. 7th at Zoar Presbyterian Church, rural George, IA, with Rev. Dale Lint officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, Jan 6th from 2:00 to 8:00 PM, with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Jurrens Funeral Home of George. Angeline Henrietta Elias was born on December 13, 1917, the daughter of Johannes E. and Martha (Sleeper) Schoon on the family farm east of George, IA. She received her Baptism in the Zoar Presbyterian Church rural George, IA. She attended school in George and later graduated from George High School. On January 21, 1939, she was united in marriage to Benjamin Wilhelm Elias at the Zoar Presbyterian Church Parsonage. The couple farmed in the Little Rock and George areas and later moved to Sibley, IA in 1977. Angelines husband Ben died on January 6, 1999. In June of 2007, Angeline moved into the Rock Rapids Health Centre in Rock Rapids, IA and resided there until her death on December 30, 2010 at the age of ninety-three. Angeline was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sibley, IA. She enjoyed shopping and going out to eat with her husband Ben. She loved to travel to see her children and grandchildren and she especially enjoyed having her grandchildren stay with her for the weekend and often took them shopping with her. Angeline was a homemaker that liked flowers and crocheting. Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Shirley (Richard) Brouwer of Lakewood, CA, Daryl Elias of Aitkin, MN and John (Arlyce) Elias of George, IA; ten grandchildren, Jeff (Robyn) Brouwer of Bellflower, CA, Randy (Laura) Brouwer of Lakewood, CA, Julie (Dave) Van Essen of Bellflower, CA, Michelle Elias of Aitkin, MN, Krista Elias of Wasilla, Alaska, Daniel Elias of Anchorage, Alaska, Kimberly (Chris) Case of Austin, MN, Kayla (Dan) Dykstra of Harrisburg, SD, Andrea (Garrett) Christensen of Ames, IA and Leisa Elias of Centennial, CO; eleven great grandchildren and one step great granddaughter; one brother, Henry (Ruth) Schoon of Sioux Falls, SD; one sister, Frances Boekhout of Sibley, IA; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben; infant son, Dexter; parents, Johannes and Martha Schoon; and brother-in-law, Pete Boekhout.
