Beaver Creek, MN Rosalyn Rose Schroeder, age 56 of Beaver Creek, MN died Thursday, August, 24, 2006, at the Luverne Hospice Cottage in Luverne, MN. Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at the First Reformed Church in Rock Rapids, IA with Rev. Dan Haggar and Rev. Katie Van Veldhuizen. Burial will be held in Beaver Creek Cemetery at Beaver Creek, MN. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-8 p.m. with the family present from 4-6 p.m. at the Roste Funeral Home of Hills, MN. Rosalyn Rose Schroeder was born on June 12, 1950, at Luverne, MN the daughter of Gerrit and Frannie (Pronk) Abbink. Rose grew up on the family farm south of Edgerton, MN and attended Southwest Christian School in Edgerton, graduating in 1968. After high school she attended St. Lukes Nurses Training in Sioux City, IA, graduating in June of 1971. Rose was united in marriage to LeRoy Schroeder on July 31, 1971, at Edgerton, MN. They made their home in St. Paul, MN for a year and then moved to Beaver Creek, MN where they raised their family. Rose worked as a nurse for the Tuff Memorial Home and Palasaides Manor for over twenty-five years. She enjoyed watching her children grow up and she always attended their school and church events. Rose was a member of the Joy Circle at the First Reformed Church in Rock Rapids. In her spare time she enjoyed going for rides in the country, socializing, bird and squirrel watching and taking pictures along the way. For the past two years, Rose battled cancer and this past Thursday, August 24, 2006, she died at the Luverne Hospice Cottage in Luverne, MN at the age of fifty-six. She is survived by her husband, LeRoy of Beaver Creek, MN; their children, Leslie Schroeder of Sioux Falls, SD; and Lisa Kauk and her husband, Tim of Watertown, SD; her father, Gerrit Abbink of Pipestone, MN; brother, Ron (Gail) Abbink of Watertown, SD; nephews, Randy (Kim) Abbink of Scottland, SD; and Brad (Michelle) Abbink of Mitchell, SD; niece, Carmen (Brian) Thorsenson of Crooks, SD along with many Uncles, Aunts and cousins. Rose was preceded in death by her mother. Memorials may directed to: The American Cancer Society Or Shriners Crippled Childrens Hospital
