Sibley, IA Linda Petersen age 65 of Sibley, IA died Monday, June 16, 2014, at Sibley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sibley, IA. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Friday, June 20, 2014, at the Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley, IA with Rev. Doug Noonkester, officiating. Lindas family invites everyone to join them for a time of visitation and continued fellowship at the Sibley VFW following the graveside services on Friday. Linda Mae (Stanton) Petersen was born November 23, 1948, at Sibley, IA the daughter of Anna Mae (Holle) and Lloyd Stanton. Linda grew up in Sibley where she attended Sibley High School. On May 3, 1966, Linda was united in marriage to Larry Petersen. They made their home in Fayettville, NC, Storm Lake, IA, and Sheldon. Linda moved to Sibley in 1985... Over the years, Linda worked at Aalfs Manufacturing in Sheldon, Exo Pack in Sibley, and also at CCSI. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed her pets and in her spare time she enjoyed reading, knitting, cooking and spending time on her computer. After her stroke and several months in the hospital, she became a resident of the Sibley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sibley, IA. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Derrick and Nadine Petersen of Sibley, IA; two grandchildren, Cody and Dalton Petersen of Sibley, IA; brother, Merlin (Mary Ann) Stanton of Sibley, IA and Marlys Marco of Bigelow, MN and special friend, Dennis Monier of Cloverdale, IA. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Anna Mae, and an infant twin sister, Konie Stanton.
