NOTICE: Lester, Iowa Josephine Feucht, age 88 of Canton, SD died Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Sanford Hospital in Canton, SD. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 12th at the Apostolic Christian Church in Lester, IA. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, March 11th from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and again with family present from 6:00 " 8:00 p.m. at the Apostolic Christian Fellowship Hall in Lester. Josephine Feucht was born April 9, 1922 in Doon, IA to Herman & Margaret (Otten) Van Engen. On December 24, 1943, she was united in marriage to Paul Feucht. She and Paul farmed around the Lester area until moving to Canton in 1963 where they continued to farm. Josephine worked at the Good Samaritan Home in Canton as well as at Inspiration Hills. She loved sewing and made several family heirlooms over the years. Her family will remember her as a wonderful cook and especially enjoyed her cinnamon rolls and homemade bread. Josephine loved her family and looked forward to their visits. She was also an avid bird watcher. This past Thursday morning Josephine died at the Sanford Hospital in Canton at the age of eighty eight. Survivors include, four sons, Duane (Teresa) of Fairview, SD; Doug (Renae) of Baltic, SD; Mike (Paula) and Lowell (Marleen) all of Canton, SD; seventeen grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren; and brother, Marion Van Engen of Rock Valley, IA; and other extended family members. Josephine was preceded in death by her parents; husband Paul; son, Richard; three sisters and one brother.
