Emma Justine Rockman

Sibley, IA Emma Rockman, age 90 of Sibley died Sunday evening, July 8, 2007 at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley with Rev. Scott Meyer, officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Worthington, MN. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00 " 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 " 8:00 p.m. at the Walton Roste Funeral Home of Sibley. Emma Justine (Hohensee) Rockman was born January 15, 1917, on a farm north of Bigelow, MN the daughter of Otto and Marie (Fenske) Hohensee. Emma grew up on the family farm and attended country school. As a young lady she worked at home and helped on the family farm. She was united in marriage to Alfred Rockman, on March 4, 1942 in Hubbard, NE. They made their home in Bigelow, MN. Emma took care of her parents, and also worked at Campbell Soup in Worthington, MN. In 1959, they moved onto a farm near Bigelow where they lived for many years. Emma was an active member at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Worthington where she faithfully served in the ladies circles. Emmas life was her family. Her activities were based around her sons and their wives, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved spending time with them, cooking for them and helping with whatever she could. She was very proud of her family. Emma enjoyed sharing her faith with her family and attending worship service at Trinity Lutheran Church where she was a member. In the fall of 1987, Emma and Alfred moved into Sibley and on August 19, 1988, Alfred died. Emma continued to live in their home until February of 2005, when she became a resident of the Sibley Nursing and Rehab Center in Sibley. This past Sunday evening, July 8, 2007, Emma died the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley at the age of ninety. Emma is survived by her two sons, Randy and his wife, Carol of Rushmore, MN; and Rodney and his wife, Diane Rockman of Warsaw, MO; eight grandchildren, Jodi (Joe) Nasers of Sibley; Todd Rockman of Sibley; Jason (Shantelle) Rockman of Belton, MO; Daren (Amy) Rockman of Sibley; Jerramy Rockman (Tina Nesvacil and her son, Logan Lloyd) of Phoenix, AZ; Jenna Wills of Omaha, NE; Nathan and William Rockman of Rushmore, MN; twelve great grandchildren, Jeff, Justin, Jessica and Jacob Nasers of Sibley; Kade, Ruby and Riley Rockman of Sibley; Hunter and Gannon Rockman of Sibley; Addyson Wills of Omaha, NE; Brittney and Emma Rockman of Belton, MO; along with one sister, Dorothy Petrich of Denver, CO and one brother, Dale Hohensee of Bigelow, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Marie; husband, Alfred; and fourteen brothers and sisters. Memorials may be directed to: Trinity Lutheran Church Call to Worship Bell Tower.
