Ashton, Iowa James A. Fettes age 45 of rural Ashton, IA died Monday, November 6, 2006, at his home near Ashton. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10th at the Lyon County First Presbyterian Church, rural George, IA with Reverend H. Paul Fischer and Reverend Dale Lint officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery of Ashton. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-8 p.m. at the Roste Funeral Home of George. James Anthony Fettes was born on November 25, 1960, the son of Kenneth and Lorraine (Stallman) Fettes in Sibley, Iowa. He attended St. Josephs Catholic School in Ashton, and then St. Patricks Catholic School in Sheldon and graduated from Sheldon High School in 1979. On December 17, 1983, Jim was united in marriage to Brenda Klingenberg at the Zoar Presbyterian Church in George. The couple lived in Sheldon for fifteen years and then moved to an acreage near Ashton where they resided for the past seven years. Jim worked for Vogel Tire, Rosenboom Machine & Tool, Sudengas Diversified Technology, and was currently working for Dethmers Manufacturing DEMCO as a supervisor. Jim loved to work. He was a workaholic, it made him happy! He was a member of the Lyon County First Presbyterian Church in rural George. Jim took an interest in cars, enjoyed woodworking, fishing, reading, watching action movies, playing solitaire and especially spending time with his family. Special memories were vacationing in Florida and going to Disney World, spending time on the beach, and taking his family to Sioux Falls Zoo and Falls Park. Jim is survived by his wife Brenda Fettes of George; four children, Brandon James, Jessica Lynne, Jamie Nicole and Brian Joseph Fettes; his mother, Lorraine Fettes; five siblings, Mary Kay (husband Kevin) Fields, Tom Fettes, Ron (wife Debra) Fettes, Nancy Doorenbos and Pam Durst; mother and father-in-law, Claus and Alma Klingenberg; brothers and sisters-in-law, Sheryl (husband Arvid) Colby, Lavanda (wife Madonna) Klingenberg, Margaret (husband Robert) Schwab, Willard Klingenberg, Douglas (wife Dona) Klingenberg, Ivan Klingenberg and friend Lois, Arlen (wife Kim) Klingenberg, Thelma (husband Tim) Yager and Robert (wife Josie) Klingenberg; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Ken, one infant brother Kenneth, and grandparents Lawrence and Ida Stallman and Pete and Emma Fettes.
