Ashton, IA Kenneth Krogman, age 72 of Ashton, IA died Tuesday, October 07, 2008 at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley, IA. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 10th, 2008 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Ashton with Fr. Timothy Hogan celebrating. Burial will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery at Ashton, IA. Visitation will be Thursday, October 9th from 2:00 " 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 " 8:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home in Ashton. There will be a rosary at 4:00 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Kenneth Bernard Krogman was born on August 6, 1936, rural Ashton, Iowa, the son of Carl and Elizabeth (Berning) Krogman. He attended and graduated from St. Josephs Catholic School. On February 24, 1962 he was united in marriage to Donna Rae Pottebaun in Alton, Iowa. Kenneth farmed in the Ashton area until the end of 2000. He was a life long member of the St. Marys Catholic Church in Ashton, where sang with the choir for many years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Kenneths passion was farming but he also enjoyed horses, horseback riding, gardening and especially spending time with his grandchildren. Kenneth is survived by five children: Stanley (wife Stephanie) Krogman of Ashton, IA, Lisa (husband Terry) Cooper of Sibley, IA, Carey (husband Mike) Haugen of Sioux Falls, SD, Tammi (husband Steven) Schultz of Sac City, IA and Nita (husband Richard) Conlan of Round Lake, MN; ten grandchildren: Amanda Christians, Kevin Cooper, Elizabeth, Matthew and Kelli Krogman, Taylor, Jacob and step-granddaughter, Sarah Haugen, and Kyle and Eric Conlan; three great-grandchildren: Kylie, Keira and Addison Christians; two brothers, Philip Krogman of Kingsley, IA and Carl Krogman of Texas; four sisters, Agatha Epping of Sheldon, IA, Clarice Hayes of California, Rita Ament of ID and Delores Flick of AZ; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Duane and Lee Krogman; three infant sons, Keith, Kevin and Edward; two sisters, Millie Broulette and Marion Avent; one infant twin sister, Kathleen and one infant brother, Robert.
