William "Bill" L. Viereck

Larchwood, Iowa William Bill Viereck, age 62 of Larchwood, IA died Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Avera"Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Family will be receiving friends and family on Thursday, December 13th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Jurrens Funeral Home of Larchwood. William Lee Viereck was born August 15, 1950 in Rock Rapids, Iowa, the son of Alfred W. and Josephine (Doherty) Viereck. He was raised in Larchwood, IA and attended St. Marys School graduating in 1968. After his education he began working at John Morrells Packing Plant in Sioux Falls, SD for the next 19 years. On October 9, 1981 Bill was united in marriage to Becky Kramer in Luverne, MN. They lived by Garretson, SD and in 1985 they moved to Larchwood, IA where they owned and operated the B&B Bar in Larchwood since 1987 Throughout most of Bills adult life he suffered from heart related issues as a result of a motor cycle accident in 1969. He enjoyed collecting antiques, playing billiards and fishing with his family. He loved his Yorkshire Terriers but most of all he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered as a generous man who would do almost anything for you. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Becky Viereck of Larchwood, IA; one daughter, Mandy Viereck (special friend Eric Lechner) of Larchwood, IA; two sons, Billy Viereck (special friend Jodi Sutherland) of Larchwood, IA and Danny Viereck (special friend Dawn Wynthein) of Sioux Falls, SD; six grandchildren, Alyssa Viereck, Jackson Viereck, both of Larchwood, IA, Sydney Viereck, Lily Witte, both of Sioux Falls, SD, Lacey Sutherland and Lyndsey Sutherland, both of Larchwood, IA; three brothers, Jerry (wife Barb) Viereck of Larchwood, IA, Butch (wife Janet) Viereck of Sioux Falls, SD and John (wife Gale) Viereck of Larchwood, IA; three sisters, Janie Rutten of Sioux Falls, SD, Leola Steenblock of Larchwood, IA and Vickie (husband Brad) Bauer of Larchwood, IA; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Josephine Viereck; one brother, Al Viereck; two nieces, Michelle Warner and Kristi Cattret; and a great-nephew, Joey Viereck.
