Rock Rapids, Iowa Charlotte M. Brower, age 66 of Rock Rapids, IA died unexpectedly on September 22, 2013 at the Sanford Hospital in Rock Rapids, IA. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 26th at Faith Baptist Church in Rock Rapids, IA with Rev. Jeff Poppinga, officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Rock Rapids. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 25th from 2:00 " 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 " 8:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Rock Rapids. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Faith Baptist Church of Rock Rapids. Charlotte Marie Brower was born September 9, 1947 in Pipestone, MN, the daughter of C. Kenneth and Dorothy M. (Petersen) Sibson. She was raised in rural Hardwick, MN and attended grade school in Hardwick. She graduated from Edgerton High School in 1965. She continued her education in Rapid City and Mitchell, SD. Charlotte was united in marriage to Terry Brower on October 14, 1977 at United Methodist Church in Luverne, MN. They made their home in Rock Rapids, IA. Charlotte worked for Tri-State Insurance Company and was currently employed at Berkley Technology Services as a Sr. Business Analyst, where she worked for the last 43 years. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church of Rock Rapids. Being involved in card club for many years; Charlotte and Terry enjoyed playing Double Deck Pinochle. She also enjoyed reading, collecting genealogy, playing dominos and card games. She loved preparing meals for big groups; most of all taking care of people. In 2008, Charlotte was diagnosed with breast cancer. Even though she experienced several health complications throughout her life, she remained positive and continued to live a purpose filled life. She will be remembered as a quiet servant with a heart of gold. This past Sunday, September 22, 2013, Charlotte died at Sanford Hospital in Rock Rapids, IA, at the age of 66. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Terry Brower of Rock Rapids, IA; her daughter, Mary (husband, Dan) Schram of Orange City, IA; a sister, Mary Bechler of George, IA; a brother, Harold (wife, Tanya) Baustian of Flat, TX; two sisters-in-law, Janyce A. Baustian of Hardwick, MN and Eunice Sibson of Buckeye, AZ; and nieces, nephews and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, C. Kenneth and Dorothy M. Sibson; three brothers, Robert Bob Sibson, Howard Baustian, and Harley Baustian; and brother-in-law, Bill Bechler.
