Sibley, IA Lenore Lonneman age 100 of Sibley died Sunday December 10, 2006 at Sibley Nursing and Rehab in Sibley. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, Dec. 14th at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Sibley, IA, with Father Clair Boes as Celebrant. Burial will follow at the St. Andrews Cemetery in Sibley. Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 13th from 2 " 8 PM with family present from 6 " 8 at the Walton Roste Funeral Home of Sibley. A Rosary Service will be held at 4:00 p.m., with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home Wednesday evening. Lenore Lonnaman was born on July 24, 1906 at Ellsworth, Minnesota, the daughter of Leonard and Tena (Broesder) Fischer. In 1910 Lenores family moved to Little Rock, IA, where she finished her schooling. Later she worked at Fritz Grocery Store in Little Rock and J.C. Penneys in Le Mars, IA. On January 14, 1947 she was united in marriage to Albert Lonneman at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Sibley, IA. They started farming in 1947 and retired in 1970. They were blessed with over twenty winters in McAllen, TX. Lenore was a member of the St. Andrew Catholic Church, active with the Catholic Daughters of America. She was also a member of the Elginettes Extension Group and Little Rock Womens Club. In 1988 Lenores husband, Albert, died after 41 years of marriage. After the loss of her husband, Lenores continued faith and loving family helped her through the last several years. She stayed productive as a volunteer, enjoyed playing cards and attending various community activities. This past Sunday, December 10, 2006, Lenore died at the Sibley Nursing & Rehab Center at the age of 100 years. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Fern Fischer of Little Rock, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard, Sr. and Tina Fischer; husband, Albert Lonneman; a brother, Leonard Fischer, Jr.; six sisters, Helen Heidebrink, Tena Visker, Celia Pieper, Marian Schwarzkopf, Ida Luchtel, and Pauline Harkema.
