Steen, MN Peter Pete Teune, age 68 of Steen, MN died Saturday, June 16, 2007 at the Hospice Cottage in Luverne, MN. Funeral service will be 1:30 PM, Tuesday, June 19th at the Steen Reformed Church in Steen, MN, with Rev. Dan Raemaker officiating. Burial will follow at the East Side Cemetery in Steen, MN. Visitation will be Monday, June 18th from 2 " 8 PM, with the family present from 6 " 8 PM at the Steen Reformed Church in Steen, MN. Peter Teune (Pete) was born December 20, 1938, in a corner house in Steen, MN, the son of John and Alice (Bosch) Teune. He grew up on a farm northwest of Rock Rapids until 1958. On November 3, 1959 Pete was united in marriage to Gertrude (Trudy) Winterswyk in Rock Rapids, IA. In 1960, Pete and Trudy moved to California where Pete worked at a large dairy milking cows in Artesia, CA. They moved back to a farm south of Steen in 1961 and then to the farm northeast of Steen in 1962 where they would make their home. Pete began selling trailers in 1976 and was named the 2005 TrailMasters Dealer of the Year. He enjoyed his trailer sales, riding horses, traveling and meeting new people. Every stranger he met he made into a friend and was always willing to help someone out. Pete was a member of the Steen Reformed Church. Pete is survived by his wife, Gertrude; two sons, Rick (Judith) of DePere, WI, and John (Lisa) of Steen, MN; four grandsons, John (Tammi) of DePere, WI, and Joshua, Eric, and Dustin of Steen, MN; one great-grandson, Braden of DePere, WI; four sisters, Gertrude (Harvey) Rozeboom of Hills, MN, Betty (Gilbert) Teunissen of Inwood, IA, Elsie (Eibert) Boeve of Springfield, MO, and Brenda (Bill) Greene of Sioux Falls, SD; and two brothers, Teunis (Nellie) of Clovis, NM, and Johnnie (Loretta) of Pine River, MN; and many nieces and nephews. Pete was preceded in death by his parents, John and Alice Teune.
