George, Iowa Jule Bruinsma, age 78 of George, IA died on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at the Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Monday, July 15th at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in George, IA, with Rev. Dr. Paul Soderquist officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Lawn Cemetery in George, IA. Visitation will be Sunday, July 14th from 2:00 to 8:00 PM with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Jurrens Funeral Home of George. Jule June (Fick) Bruinsma was born on March 5, 1935, the daughter of Henry C. and Winona (Williams) Fick in Hartley, IA. She grew up in Hartley and attended school there. On May 21, 1952, she was united in marriage to Robert L. Bruinsma in Luverne, MN. To this union four children were born, Linda, Ande, Paula and Rod. The couple lived in Hartley, IA for a year and then moved to George, IA. On November 1, 1979, Jules husband Robert passed away. Jule worked various place around George throughout the years. She was a member of the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in George. She enjoyed doing crafts, crocheting, play cards, gardening, flowers and feeding and watching the birds. She will be greatly missed. Jule is survived by her four children, Linda Groen of George, IA, Ande (Pat) Bruinsma of George, IA, Paula (Kent) Harms of George, IA and Rod (Dona) Bruinsma of Sioux Falls, SD; nine grandchildren, Pam (Brian) Arends of Little Rock, IA, Chantell (Edward) Abshire of Lafayette, LA, Terry (Kari) Bruinsma of Spirit Lake, IA, Andrea (Bill) Reinders of Castle Rock, CO, Kellee (Ryan) Sheik of Fredonia, WI, Becky (Adam) Peterson of Brandon, SD, Brian Harms of Sioux Center, IA, Bobby (Beth) Bruinsma of Rapid City, SD and Megan Bruinsma of Sioux Falls, SD; fifteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Colleen (Jack) Ingraham of Minneapolis, MN; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; four brothers and one sister.
