Duane "Butch" Harold Buchman

Due to weather concerns, service times for Duane Buchman have been rescheduled. Sibley, IA Duane Butch Buchman, age 65 formerly of Sibley, died Thursday, February 11, 2010 at the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center in Fort Dodge, IA. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at the United Methodist Church in Sibley, with Reverend Douglas Harding officiating. Burial will follow in the Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley. Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 16th from 9:00 AM until the time of service at the United Methodist Church of Sibley. The Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley is handling arrangements. Duane Butch Harold Buchman was born on November 9, 1944, the son of Clyde and Anna Jean (Wiertzma) Buchman in Sibley, Iowa. Duane grew up in Sibley where he attended school. After graduating he then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force on May 13, 1967. Duane was later honorably discharged and took a business course and got a job in Webster City, Iowa. While he lived there he married Velma Nelson and they were later divorced. Duane then moved to Fort Dodge, Iowa and lived all his remaining years there. He was united in marriage to Brenda Kreiman on April 5, 1974 at the Trinity United Methodist Church. Duane enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR racing, boxing and wrestling on TV. Duane is survived by his twin sister, Jane (husband, Gerald) Nagel of Hartley, Iowa; along with aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda in 2003; parents, Clyde and Anna Jean; two brothers, Robert and Donald Buchman; two sisters, Lavonne Buchman and Marlys Brandt; and brother-in-law, Herbert Brandt.
