William "Bill" Luenberger

Boyden, IA William Bill Luenberger, age 57 of Boyden, IA, died unexpectedly on Monday, Jan. 4, 2010 at his home in Boyden, IA. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday, January 6th at Jurrens Funeral Home of George, with Rev. Carla Jensen officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 5th from 5:00 to 9:00 PM, with the family present from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Jurrens Funeral Home of George. William George Luenberger was born July 28, 1952 in Belle Plaine, Iowa, the son of Clarence G. and Betty (Hoffman) Luenberger. As a youngster, Bill and his family lived various places, such as Dell Rapids, SD, Rock Rapids, IA and George, IA. He attended school in all three communities. On August 15, 1972 he was united in marriage to Mavis Johnson in George, IA. Together they lived in various places. They first lived in Lester, IA, before moving to Wheatridge, CO where Bill worked at AMAX mines. Then moved to George, IA where he hauled gravel for his step-father and drove truck for Sather Trucking in Round Lake, MN and Feekes Trucking in Sioux Center and Hudson, SD. The Past 25 years they lived in Boyden, IA and Bill worked at Total Component Solution as a Lead Operator. He was a member of The River Church in Canton, SD. Bill loved to fish, play darts, read, work with wood, ride ATVs, watch old western movies and spend time with his five granddaughters. Bill had many illnesses throughout his life related to Crohns disease. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 37 years, Mavis Luenberger of Boyden, IA; two daughters, Kelly Foreman of Rock Valley, IA and Stephanie (husband, Jay) Cunningham of Lohrville, IA; five granddaughters, Miranda, Ariel Rosie , Brittney, Taylor and Megan; eleven siblings, Tom (wife, Mavis) Hoffman of Ocheydan, IA, Dave (wife, Cheryl) Luenberger of Liberty, MO, Mary McDermott (Tim Fredricksen) of Westfield, IA, Mike (wife, Gwen) Luenberger of Waterloo, IA, Tim (wife, Laurel) Luenberger of Lyles, TN, Barb (husband, Guy) Hollenbeck of Alvord, IA, Shelly (husband, Randy) Janssen of Ashton, IA, Jim (wife, Sandy) Luenberger of George, IA, Leo Jr. (wife, Pam) Bechler of George, IA, Dan (wife, Christine) Bechler of Sibley, IA and Richard Bechler of Cushing, IA; two step-brothers, Jerry (wife, Carol) Bechler of Buffalo Center, IA and Scott Bechler of Ida Grove, IA; and one step-sister; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Bechler; his father, Clarence Luenberger; step-father, Leo Bechler, Sr.; two step-brothers, Lorne Bechler and Bill Bechler; a nephew, Terry Janssen and parents-in-law, Louie and Margaret Johnson.
