Carol Marra

George, Iowa Carol Marra, age 49 of George, Iowa died Thursday, September 20, 2007 at the George Good Samaritan Center. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 24, 2007, at Zoar Presbyterian Church of George, IA with Rev. Dale Lint, officiating. Burial will follow in the Zoar Presbyterian Cemetery at George. Visitation will be Sunday, September 23, 2007, from 2:00 " 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 " 8:00 p.m. at the Roste Funeral Home of George. Carol Jean (Klingenberg) Marra was born January 28, 1958, at Rock Rapids, IA the daughter of Willys and Arlis (Johnson) Klingenberg. Carol grew up on the family farm. She attended school in George, graduating from George Community High School in 1977. Carol worked as a Nurses Aid at the George Good Samaritan Center until 1992. She was united in marriage to Clarence Marra, on June 12, 1982, at Zoar Presbyterian Church. They made their home in George and raised their family of three children, Nicholas, Amber and Jessica. Carol enjoyed traveling on vacations around the area, tending to her flowers, baking, collecting cook books, dolls and Rusty Wallace memorabilia. She had a life long passion for listening to Elvis music and watching Elvis movies. Carol was a member of the Zoar Presbyterian Church of George. In September of 2005, she was diagnosed with cancer. In June of 2007, her health continued to decline and she became a resident of the George Good Samaritan Center, where she died this past Thursday evening, September 20, 2007, at the age of forty-nine. She is survived by her husband, Clarence Marra of George; their children, Nicholas Marra of George; Amber and Jessica Marra of Mankato, MN; her mother, Arlis Klingenberg of George; her siblings, Darius and his wife, Linda Klingenberg of Adrian, MN; Dennis and his wife, Elaine Klingenberg of Adrian, MN; Willys, Jr. and his wife, Kay Klingenberg of George; Marlin and his wife, Eva Klingenberg of George; Karen and her husband, Troy DeBoer of Adrian, MN and Audrey and her husband, Tom Stine of Adel, IA; along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Willys and her grandparents.
