NOTICE: Rock Rapids, Iowa William Willie Langfeldt age 92 of Rock Rapids, IA died Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Rock Rapids Health Care Centre. Funeral service will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday April 26th at the Peace Lutheran Church in Rock Rapids, IA, with Rev. Mark Hansen officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery at Rock Rapids. Visitation will be Monday April 25th from 2:00 to 8:00 PM, with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Peace Lutheran Church in Rock Rapids. William Langfeldt was born September 22, 1918 at Rock Rapids, Iowa, the son of Fred and Emma (Delfs) Langfeldt. William received his education at a country school and graduated from Alvord High School in 1932. He was confirmed at the Alvord Christ Lutheran Church in 1933. After graduation, he stayed home and helped his Dad on the farm and later had a farming operation with his brother Harold. During Willies working years he sold feed for nine months and was on the Alvord Elevator Board for six years. He was also a telephone director for four years. On May 11, 1984 Willie was united in marriage to Viola Hulstein and moved to Rock Rapids. He became of member of Peace Lutheran Church in Rock Rapids and was active through various things with the church. For the past 19 years he and Viola have been vacationing at Mission, TX. Willies past time was having coffee with his friends and chatting about farming. He thoroughly enjoyed farming, dancing and playing cards. He and Viola belonged to several card parties. On April 10, 2010 Willies wife, Viola died after 26 years of marriage. On September 2, 2011 Willie entered the Rock Rapids Health Centre where he remained until this past Thursday when he died at the age of 92. He is survived by three step-daughters, Glenda Moser of Cary, NC, Charlene (Alvin) Buffington of Upland, CA and Brenda (Mike) Dunn of Hartford, SD; two step-sons, Henry (Sue) Delfs of Kingsley, IA and Darryl (Jean) Delfs of Council Bluffs, IA; one brother, Freddie Langfeldt of Alvord, IA; one sister, Betty (Ron) Hasche of Rock Rapids, IA; thirteen step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; six nieces and three nephews He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Langfeldt; his parents, Fred and Emma Langfeldt; brother, Harold; sister, Dorothy; sisters-in-law, Therese Langfeldt and Irene Langfeldt.
