Rock Rapids, Iowa Mina Kragt age 77 of Rock Rapids, IA died Sunday, December 9, 2007 at the Sanford Hospital, Rock Rapids, IA. Funeral Services will be 10:30 AM, Friday, December 14th at the Christian Reformed Church of Rock Rapids with Rev. Dan Haggar and Rev. Katie Van Veldhuizen officiating. Burial will follow at the Riverview Cemetery in Rock Rapids, IA. Visitation will be Thursday, December 13th from 2 " 8 PM with the family present from 6 " 8 PM at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Rock Rapids. Mina Albertha Kragt was born on a farm in Sioux County, Iowa on October 31, 1930. She was the daughter of John and Bertha (Ennema) Van Holland. She attended the Rock Valley Christian School, made her confession of faith in her teens and did domestic work until her marriage to Edwin Kragt. They were married in Rock Valley, Iowa on June 10, 1953. She lived with her mother on the farm while her husband was serving in the army. She and her husband moved to Davenport, Iowa and resided there while her husband attended Palmer Chiropractic College. Upon graduation Mina and her husband moved to Rock Rapids, Iowa where he started practicing his profession. She spent the rest of her life in Rock Rapids. Mina was involved in her church, being on different committees, Christian Womens Club, Birthday Club. She was a member of the Charity Circle until her hearing became quite severe. She was also a long time room mother in school, Girl Scout Leader, Cub Scout Leader and was in the Red Hat Club. Mina also served as Northwest director of the Iowa Chiropractic Auxiliary for 4 years and also did part time help in her husbands practice. She and her husband enjoyed traveling to all the states and including overseas trips and cruises. She was a very beloved wife and loving mother; her grandchildren and great-grandchild were her pride and joy. She is survived by her husband, Edwin; daughters, Cheryl Sandholm of Sheldon, IA and Sandy Hammond (husband Earl) of Colorado Springs, CO; Son, Jon Kragt (wife Pam) of Papillion, NE; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, Gerrit Van Holland of McMinnville, OR, Dick Van Holland of Norman, OK, John Van Holland of Rock Valley, IA, and Tom Van Holland, of Rock Valley, IA; and one sister, Gertie Boeve of Rock Rapids, IA Mina was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Enno; sisters, Tena Van Kekerix and Dora Kooima.
