Edward Wayne Dammann was born on January 11, 1924 on a farm south of Little Rock, IA, the son of William R. and Anna M. (Jutting) Dammann. As a young man he attended Grant #1 Country School, graduating from the eighth grade and later got his GED from NCC in Sheldon, IA. Edward farmed with his parents until he started farming for himself in the 1940s. Ed farmed in Lyon & Osceola counties for many years until he retired from farming in 1976, when he started work at the Chase Bag Company in Sibley, Iowa. After many years there and in an assisted living home in Sibley, he entered Country View Manor where he resided until his death on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at the age of eighty-six. Ed was a member of The Immanuel Lutheran Church of George, Iowa, where he was baptized and confirmed. After his youth he became a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley and remained a faithful member until the time of his death. He leaves to mourn two brothers, Kenneth Dammann of Round Lake, MN and Marvin (wife Theresa) Dammann of Little Rock, IA; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Anna Dammann; two sisters, Erma Duin and Elva Jean Behrens; brother-in-law, Charlie Behrens; sister-in-law, Luetta Dammann; and a nephew, Larry Behrens.
