Albert Peter Timmermann

Sibley, Iowa Albert P. Timmermann, age 87 of Sibley, IA died Monday, December 15, 2008 at Country View Manor in Sibley. Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 22, 2008 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley, with Pastor Scott Meyer officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, December 21st from 2:00 - 4:00 P.M. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley. Albert Peter Timmermann was born on January 16, 1921, the son of PFL and Trentje (Behrens) Timmermann in Sibley, IA. He grew up in the Sibley area and attended country school through the eighth grade. On November 16, 1941, he married Marjorie Dagel on the family farm near Sibley. After marriage, the couple remained on the farm. In August of 2000, they moved into Sibley. Albert was a life long member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley, member of the Farmers Bureau and Bigelow Elevator Board. Albert's life was farming. He also did some dozer work and made many county waterways. He also helped his neighbors out, custom combining and bailing. At one time, he was a rural telephone lineman for Viola Township. He loved animals and his hobbies included Ballroom Dancing and Bowling with his friends from the Adrian and Ellsworth areas. Special memories his family will never forget is his smile, whistling and his love of the land and his family. A fond memory his daughter had was him sending hot oatmeal in a cup with her on the bus, so she wouldn't miss her breakfast. Albert is survived by one son, Bill (Lois) Timmermann of Sibley; two daughters, Judy Gustafson and special friend Vern Carpenter of Camden, SC and Jane (Donovan) Powers of Sioux Falls, SD; four grandsons, Troy Powers of Sioux Falls, SD, Terry (Kim) Powers of Albuquerque, NM, Scott Timmermann and special friend Nicole Kingston of Fremont, NE and Craig Timmermann of Sibley; two great grandsons, Ryan Timmerman and Colin Powers, and four great granddaughters, Sarah Powers, Lilly Powers, Tara Timmermann and Tiffany Timmermann; one brother, John Timmermann of Sibley; one sister, May Feenstra of Sibley; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of sixty four years, Marjorie Timmermann; eight brothers and sisters; one grandson, DonaldTimmermann; one granddaughter, Angie Powers; son-in-law, Robert Gustafson.
