Sibley, IA Martin Theisen, age 69 of Sibley, died Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at Sibley Nursing and Rehab in Sibley, IA. Funeral service will be 1:30 PM Friday, October 1, 2010 at the Jurrens Funeral Home in Sibley with Reverend Scott Meyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley. Visitation will be Thursday, September 30, 2010 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley. Martin James Theisen was born on August 3, 1941, the son of Nicholas and Dorothy (Morely) Theisen in Sioux City, IA. He grew up and attended school there. Martin was a Taxi driver in Sioux City and later drove truck for a road construction company. On June 20, 1981 he was united in marriage to Shirley Grubaugh at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley, where they have lived for the past twenty-nine years. Martin was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley. He enjoyed fishing, doing yard work, playing cards, listening to country western music and watching TV. In his younger years he liked working on cars. Martin is survived by his wife of twenty-nine years, Shirley Theisen of Sibley, IA; four sisters, Dorothy (Richard) Rohde of Cedar Rapids, IA, Betty (Harold) Reeves of Lexington, MO, Sharon Haun of Deepwater, MO and Judy Driller of Kansas City, MO; two brothers, Nicholas (Terry) Theisen of Boise, ID and Burley Butch Bishop of Kansas City, MO; brother-in-law, Willy Tracy of Sibley, IA; sister-in-law, Joyce (Jerry) Ferguson of Sibley, IA; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Dan White; two sisters-in-law, Delores Prins and Donna Tracy; three brothers-in-law, Richard Grubaugh, Roy Grubaugh and Leonard Prins.
